As you know, my loyal fans, I’ve been working on learning the novel-writing craft for about twelve years. I’ve learned a lot along the way, and I’ve been able to bless others as an editor and publisher. But my own fiction work remains unpublished.
That’s because the genre I choose to write in, aimed at 12 year olds, has to be marketed in old-fashioned ways, not directly to the reader as so many authors are doing now. So I need an agent, preferably one who can get the attention of a traditional publishing company, one of the ones who is plugged into the marketing to schools and parents that is needed. These books get reviewed by Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. They go into libraries. They go into schools. And so on.
I am so thrilled that I have an offer from an agent, Bob Shuman, who has some informal affiliations with Dunham Literary, a New York agency specializing in children’s books.
Celebrate with me!!!
