“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded.” Sound familiar? How about the Spider Man take on it: “With great power comes great responsibility”?
So, who said the first quote? Jesus, in Luke 12:48. He’s explaining a parable to his disciples. It’s the parable about the unfaithful steward, who is put in charge of the household but says to himself, “My master is taking a long time in coming.” Then he begins to beat the servants and get drunk. When the master shows up, it’s bad news for the unfaithful steward.
